ElevenLabs, a startup specializing in artificial intelligence technologies for voice cloning, has released the ElevenLabs Reader: AI Audio application, which allows you to read text in different voices in different languages.

Technology startup ElevenLabs, known for its innovative developments in the field cloning voices using artificial intelligence, introduced its first public application. ElevenLabs Reader: AI Audio can recognize and read text content using 11 different synthesized voices. The application is currently available for free download in the App Store (except for Ukraine).
Voice cloning technology
ElevenLabs, founded in 2022 by former Google and Palantir Technologies employees , offers services for creating voice clones. This technology allows you to generate audio recordings based on uploaded voice samples using neural networks. One of the service's features also provides the ability to translate the cloned voice into more than 20 languages, including Ukrainian, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Polish and Arabic.
Funding and development plans
In January, ElevenLabs raised $80 million in investment, which valued the company $1.1 billion. These funds will be used to expand the startup’s activities. ElevenLabs is currently focused on creating audio content, including an agreement with HarperCollins to produce audiobooks in multiple languages. The company also plans to sell its dubbing technology to YouTube content creators, film studios and news outlets.
Problems and concerns
However, the launch of the ElevenLabs service was not without problems. Internet trolls immediately took advantage of the open access to technology and began spreading fake audio recordings on social media in which celebrity voices uttered offensive remarks, declared war, or quoted Hitler.
