The Ukrainian military has strengthened its arsenal with new types of weapons and equipment, including drones of various types, ground robotic complexes and ammunition produced by domestic enterprises.
New weapons
Domestic products
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have replenished their arsenal with another batch of domestic weapons and military equipment. Last week, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially approved 18 new types of weapons and military equipment for use in the army.
Codified samples
In addition, another 24 units of weapons and equipment have been codified and also were put into military use. It is worth noting that in the first three months of 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received more than 80 samples of Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment.
Ammunition of various types
In the list of novelties, the largest group is ammunition of various types and calibers . The second group is unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs); both upgraded for reconnaissance and completely new varieties: FPV kamikaze drones, as well as multi-use attack drones designed for different ranges. Some drones are developed using the Brave1 platform.
Ground complexes
The third largest group of weapons samples codified in the first three months of the current year and military equipment - ground robotic complexes and means of electronic warfare.
As Ivan Gavrylyuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, lieutenant general, said, changes in the legislation that simplified the procedure for admitting new types of weapons and military equipment to operation played an important role in revitalizing the work of domestic arms manufacturers.
Currently, about 500 enterprises and companies work in the defense production and development sector in Ukraine. The vast majority of them are private structures.
