Testing Copilot in Ukrainian
According to the statement of the head of Microsoft Ukraine Leonid Polupan, work is underway to implementation of Ukrainian localization of the Copilot assistant. This tool, which is part of a line of AI assistants for various tasks and specialists, has demonstrated good results in simultaneous translation. For example, Copilot was able to translate a presentation from Ukrainian into English and answer questions about its content.
Development of Ukrainian-language AI products
Polupan noted that the Ukrainian language has only recently begun to fully integrate into AI tools thanks to the features of large language models that learn from existing data. Therefore, the most active development occurs for common languages. However, the Ukrainian Microsoft team is involved in the development and testing of AI-based products, including Copilot with GPT-4 and simultaneous translation systems.
Popular Microsoft solutions in Ukraine
According to Polupan, until 2022 in Ukraine the main the demand was for digital transformation solutions. Now the priority has become Modern Workplace products, cybersecurity and cloud storage, the data for which is hosted in European data centers. There is also growing interest in cloud services for training large language models. In addition, Microsoft together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation are working on a project of digital twins of cities to simulate various situations and improve the efficiency of infrastructure.
