Figure AI: Revolutionizing robotics for home and manufacturing
Californian company Figure introduced the innovative humanoid robot F.02, equipped with advanced artificial technology intelligence and computer vision, capable of interacting with people and performing complex production tasks.
New generation robot
A breakthrough in robotics
Founded in 2022 by entrepreneur Brett Adcock, Figure has made significant leaps in humanoid robot development. The company recently introduced its latest model, the F.02, which is the result of a full-scale modernization of both the hardware and software.
Innovative technologies
Figure specialists have significantly improved artificial intelligence systems, computer vision, battery systems, electronic components, sensor equipment and robot drive mechanisms. A key innovation was the introduction of microphones and speakers, allowing F.02 to conduct dialogue with people thanks to specialized AI models developed in conjunction with OpenAI.
Enhanced perception of the surrounding world
The F.02 is equipped with six RGB cameras to power its computer vision system. Two cameras are placed on the animated face of the robot, the rest are on the body. This allows the device to more effectively navigate space and make decisions based on visual information.
Improved performance
Compared to its predecessor, F.02 has three times the processing power to enable complex AI tasks to be completed offline. The robot's appearance is impressive: the fabric covering and internal wiring give it an elegant look in a dark metallic shade.
Improved Mobility
Engineers paid special attention to the mobility of the F.02. The robot's shoulder joints have a torque of 50 Nm and a range of motion of 148 degrees. The knee and hip joints are even more powerful at 150 Nm, with a range of motion of 135 and 195 degrees respectively.
Advanced manipulators
The new humanoid “arm” has 16 degrees of freedom and is capable of lifting loads weighing up to 25 kg. The design is as close as possible to a human: four fingers with an opposable thumb, each equipped with a built-in sensor unit and motor. The F.02 robot's wrist is designed to closely mimic the range of motion of the human hand.
Improved power supply
Power is provided by a 2.25 kWh battery located in the torso, which is 50% higher than the previous model.
Practical application
The F.02 is already undergoing testing at BMW's Spartanburg (South Carolina, USA) production facility, where collects data and trains to perform various tasks. Figure strives to create robots that not only improve productivity and manufacturing efficiency, but also improve people's quality of life.

Wow, these robots from Figure are simply amazing! 🤖 Imagine how they will change production. I wonder how long it will be before we see them in our homes?
Sophie
Yes, Liam, technology is developing at an incredible speed! I was particularly impressed with OpenAI's AI integration. Imagine how this will improve the robot's interaction with people. 🗣️
Giovanni
Sophie, I agree! Did you notice that F.02 can lift up to 25 kg? It's almost like a person! 💪 I wonder how this will affect the labor market in the future.
Amelie
Guys, I was impressed by the computer vision system with six cameras! 👀 This is a revolution in robot orientation in space. Giovanni, I think this will create new jobs in the development and maintenance of robots.
Hans
Ha! Another useless gadget. Why do we need robots at home? To be even more lazy? And in factories they will take jobs away from people. No, thank you, I’ll do without these pieces of hardware.
Liam
Hans, I understand your concern. But isn't technology here to make our lives easier? 🤔 Robots can take over dangerous or monotonous work, freeing people up for more creative tasks.
Isabella
I agree with Liam! 👍 By the way, I was impressed by the F.02 arm design. 16 degrees of freedom – it’s almost like a person’s! Imagine how accurately he can perform complex manipulations. 🦾
Sophie
Isabella, exactly! I was also pleased with the increase in battery capacity by 50%. This means that the F.02 will be able to work longer without recharging. I wonder how many hours it can function autonomously? 🔋
