Asus announces the innovative ExpertBook P5 laptop, powered by a cutting-edge next-generation Intel processor that promises powerful performance and efficiency for professionals.
Laptop of the future
New Intel processor
Asus has presented a detailed review of its upcoming ExpertBook P5 laptop, equipped with cutting-edge Intel processors. Interestingly, the manufacturer avoids direct mention of Intel Lunar Lake, instead characterizing the processor as a “next generation Intel Core Ultra” with a neural processor with a capacity of more than 45 TOPS.
Lunar Lake Stats
Intel's Lunar Lake processors, officially unveiled at Computex, feature a 48 TOPS neural processor, which exceeds Microsoft's minimum requirements for the Copilot+ PC. The Lunar Lake platform is capable of delivering up to 120 TOPS of total computing power.
Design and features of ExpertBook P5
Asus ExpertBook P5 has a modern, minimalistic design. The body is made from durable, military-grade aluminum, and the 2.5K resolution, 144Hz display is anti-glare. Despite its high performance and reliability, the device weighs only 1.3 kg.
Specifications
The new ExpertBook P5 will be equipped with up to 32 GB RAM and up to 3 TB SSD (with two slots for SSD). The device offers a range of security features including biometric authentication, Asus Adaptive Lock infrared camera, discrete TPM 2.0, webcam and Kensington Nano security slot. The laptop will run Windows 11 Pro and support Wi-Fi 7.
Market launch
Asus plans to release ExpertBook P5 (P5405) in the second half of 2024, presumably in the third quarter. The laptop will have to compete with new models based on Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite and AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors.

Wow, Asus surprises again! The ExpertBook P5 sounds like a powerful thing. I wonder how noticeable the performance difference will be with the new Intel processor? 🤔
Klaus
Yes, Olivia, NPU at 45+ TOPS is especially intriguing. This is a huge leap for AI tasks! I wonder how this will affect autonomy?
Sophie
I'm more impressed by the weight - only 1.3 kg with such power! 😮 Although it’s interesting how they coped with cooling in such a thin case.

But it seems to me that Asus is being a little disingenuous by not naming the specific processor model. Maybe they themselves are not yet sure of the final characteristics? 🧐
Giovanni
All this hype about new processors is a waste of time. My old laptop handles all tasks perfectly for many years. Why pay more for some mythical TOPS?
Olivia
Giovanni, technology does not stand still! New processors open up a lot of possibilities for working with AI and complex calculations. This is great! 😊

And I was interested in the security features. Biometrics, infrared camera - sounds like something out of a spy movie! 🕵️♀️ I wonder how much data protection this really does?
Klaus
Anna, I think this is very important for business users. But Wi-Fi 7 is a really cool feature! The data transfer speed must be impressive. 🚀
