First version of Vision Pro
Apple introduced the first model of the Vision Pro virtual reality headset at the beginning of this year . This device is high-end, but has a number of disadvantages inherent in other VR headsets. The main disadvantages of Vision Pro: high cost from $3499 and significant weight.
Plans to develop a more affordable model
To address these shortcomings, Apple is working on creating a more budget version of the headset codenamed N109. The company's goal is to maintain the high resolution of the displays, but exclude some functions and make the device at least a third lighter. Apple is aiming to offer a more affordable model at a price comparable to the flagship iPhone. Initially, it was planned to reach a price tag of $1,500 to $2,500, but difficulties arose in optimizing costs without losing functionality. Therefore, the release of the budget headset may be delayed until 2025.
Vision Pro promotion and updates
At the same time, Apple continues to promote Vision Pro on world market. International sales of the headset are planned at the end of June, and visionOS 2 is expected to be released in the fall with a number of new features.

I can't wait for a more affordable version of the Vision to come out! 💰 I like the idea of keeping the displays high resolution but simplifying some of the features. The main thing is that the headset is light and easy to use.

I think Apple is making a mistake by trying to make the Vision Pro cheaper. 🤨 They risk losing brand equity and impressive capabilities by skimping on components. It's better to focus on innovation rather than cutting prices.

The price of the Vision Pro was indeed a barrier for many consumers. 💸 Reducing the cost to the level of a good iPhone is a great idea. If only Apple didn't sacrifice too much for this.
