Design revolution: Adobe integrates AI into Illustrator and Photoshop
Adobe extends the capabilities of Illustrator and Photoshop by integrating innovative AI tools that significantly accelerate and diversify the creative process. New features based on the Firefly model open new horizons for designers and photographers.
AI revolution from Adobe
Illustrator update
Adobe has unveiled a number of innovative AI-based features for its flagship products Illustrator and Photoshop. These innovations are designed to optimize the creative process and make it more exciting, as reports The Verge.
The most significant changes have affected Illustrator thanks to the introduction of the new Firefly Vector AI model from Adobe , which is already available in public beta testing.
New Illustrator features
Firefly Vector supports innovative Illustrator features, including generative form filling. In addition, it improves the beta version of the Text to Pattern tool for creating scalable vector patterns and the Style Reference , which allows you to quickly edit and scale vector images in the style you want.
Among the new interesting tools of Illustrator, it is worth noting (more details - on the Adobe blog ):
- Dimension tool — automatically adds information about project sizes;
- Mockup — allows you to preview how the design will look on 3D products;
- Retype — turns static text into "live" text and selects the ideal font for projects.
Photoshop improvements
Photoshop has also received significant improvements:
- Function Generate Image , powered by the latest Adobe Firefly Image 3 model, is now available in both the desktop version and the mobile Photoshop apps;
- Enhance Detail for generative fill now provides "enhanced sharpness and detail" when applied to large images;
- The Selection Brush tool has become public, which makes it easier to select and separate certain objects from the canvas by painting over them.
Adobe's AI model controversy
This Illustrator and Photoshop update is part of a series of changes that which began with the launch of Adobe's own Firefly AI model last year. Bloomberg recently revealed that Firefly trained on generated images of Midjourney and other competitors. This means that the model contains data from potentially infringing works. In response, Adobe was forced to explain that its AI model was trained mostly on its own streams, and that no customer data is used for training.

Wow, those new AI tools in Illustrator and Photoshop sound amazing! 🎨 Especially interesting about Dimension tool and Mockup. This can seriously speed up my design work.
Sophie
Yes, Oleksiy! I already tried Generate Image in Photoshop - it's just magic! 😍 But don't you think that these AI tools can make the work of a designer less creative?
Giovanni
Sophie, I understand your concerns. But I see it as an opportunity to free up more time for truly creative tasks. For example, Retype in Illustrator can save a lot of time on choosing fonts!
Oleksiy
Giovanni is right. Besides, these tools are only a help. The main creativity is still ours. But the Selection Brush in Photoshop is what I always lacked! 👌
Klaus
Phew, another fashion thing. Before, we did everything manually and nothing, the world did not collapse. These AIs of yours only breed lazy people. Soon computers will do everything for us.
Marie
Klaus, but progress cannot be stopped! 😊 These tools allow us to be more productive. Although I agree that it is important not to lose your style. By the way, has anyone experimented with Text to Pattern yet?
Sophie
Marie, I tried! It's just fantastic for creating textures. And as for the style - Style Reference just helps to preserve its uniqueness. Oleksiy, Giovanni, have you tried this feature yet?
Oleksiy
Not yet, Sophie, but I really want to! 😃 As for training Firefly on Midjourney images - it's a bit alarming. Do you think this might affect the performance of the tools?
