Windows 11 24H2: new features and testing
Microsoft has already begun testing a new major update to Windows 11, which is scheduled for release later this year. Windows Insider builds released in the Canary and Dev channels have received new version numbers - "24H2".

Addition of Sudo command and other innovations
Some of those already publicly tested New features in Microsoft's Windows 11 24H2 update include the addition of the Sudo command for Windows. This build also provides improved support for hearing aids, the ability to create 7-zip and TAR archives in Explorer, a power saving mode, and changes to the SMB protocol. Additionally, the WordPad and Tips apps have been removed.
Expectations from the Windows 11 24H2 update
Apparently, the Windows 11 24H2 update will be have significant changes. The company is overhauling the Windows installation process from scratch, which means possible changes to the settings screen that have remained largely unchanged since Windows Vista.
Unconfirmed Windows 12 Rumors
As the Windows 11 update prepares to release 24H2 continues, rumors have appeared online about the possible appearance of Windows 12 this year. There has been no official confirmation or denial of the existence of Windows 12 from Microsoft.
Possibility of Windows 12 release
The release of the 24H2 update is assumed to mean that Windows 11 will be supported for at least another year, but this does not exclude the possibility of Windows 12 being released in the same year. The previous version of the OS, Windows 10, received the 21H2 update the year Windows 11 was released, and then the 22H2 update. Microsoft may rebrand the upcoming feature update as a new version of the OS, as it did with Windows 11, which was originally planned to be a redesigned version of Windows 10.
