Connecticut-based WaveAerospace has unveiled the world's fastest multi-rotor drone with a jet turbine inside. It is capable of reaching enormous speeds and operating even in difficult weather conditions.

Huntress II Turbojet
This quadcopter has a diagonal distance between the rotors of about 4 meters. Its weight is approximately 50 kg depending on the amount of fuel. The maximum payload capacity is 165 kg, allowing large payloads to be carried in avionics bays or external containers.
Fast deployment and autonomy
The drone can be deployed and ready to perform tasks in less than in 90 seconds, regardless of the launch location - land, sea, or simply dropped from an airplane at an altitude of up to 6000 meters. It has a battery life of over two hours, allowing operators to view live video from up to 30 kilometers away. After being lifted into the air, the drone can fly like a regular quadcopter or turn on a jet turbine, NewAtlas reports.
Powerful and durable
WaveAerospace does not specify the exact power of the turbojet engine, but says that its development speed is Mach 0.4 (approximately 480 km/h). The maximum speed is electronically limited, but the company plans to remove this limitation in the future to increase speed.

The Huntress II Turbojet can fly even in difficult weather conditions , including a force 10 storm with winds up to 117 km/h and temperatures ranging from -34 to 54 °C. In addition to military use, WaveAerospace offers it for search and rescue, logistics and high-speed reconnaissance.
